Annual Prize Distribution Day

Xavierites always stand out from the rest, be it academics, cultural activities or sports. Over the years St. Xavier’s has produced a number of excellent students in academics who, in the future take the reputation of the school to new heights. And what’s the better way to appreciate and congratulate them than awarding them with mementoes and certificates of appreciation!

Keeping this in mind, the Annual Prize Distribution Day is organized every year to reward these achievers. This year it was held on Saturday, 2nd May. Fr. Edward Oliviera, Principal, St. Anselm’s Pink City School, Malviya Nagar graced us with his presence as the Chief Guest of the ceremony.

It started off by the prayer song sung by the school choir followed by a welcome speech by Fr. John Ravi. The students of the Junior School showcased their prowess in an amazing dance performance. Then Fr. Oliviera came to the podium and spoke his share of appreciation for the school and shared some inspirational thoughts. After that the class toppers of std. I to V were felicitated as they were given mementoes by Father Mani.

The felicitations were followed by a mind boggling dance number titled ‘Folk Fusion’ ¬†performed by the Senior School students. Felicitations followed the performance, this time to the toppers of the Senior School (std. VI to XII). Some special awards were given to the NTSE Scholars, KVPY Scholars, Prefects, House Captains, Cultural Secretaries, students who excelled in different Olympiads and the Editors of XRays and eXRays. A patriotic dance performance by the Junior School students preceded the Vote of Thanks given by Preksha Soni. The ceremony concluded with the Xavier’s Cheer Song.
