Brandon Memorial Declamation Contest 2018

The rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

It takes strength to stand up for oneself, but it takes courage to stand up for others. We all are equally entitled to our human rights without any discrimination. Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10th December. It commemorates, the day on which in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In 1950, the assembly passed resolutions, inviting all states and interested organizations to observe the 10th December of each year as Human Rights Day the year commencing on 12th August 2010 as the “International Year of Youth”. From that year, the school started The Brandon Memorial Human Rights Day Declamation Contest to promote the cause of Human Rights among the young students. The event was held in memory of Mr. Satyapal Brandon and Mrs. Aurelia Brandon, our former teachers who taught in St Xavier’s School, Jaipur and contributed to the academic and cultural life of the institution from 1960 to over a decade. We respect the grandeur of these great souls of our former teachers, who believed and stood strongly as ambassadors of youth. Aur Commodore Dr Ajay Sikand was the Chief Guest for the event, Dr. Suneet Ranawat, was the special Guest and Mr. Rohit Brandon I.A.S officer sponsored the event.
