Brandon memorial declamation contest

The 9th of December, 2016 witnessed the rising spirits and throbbing of hearts, as the junior school hall brimmed with excitement. Celebrating the International Human Rights Week, Xavier’s saw the glorious occasion of the 7th Brandon Memorial Interhouse Declamation Contest. It centered on one of the burning topics of today’s world– STAND UP FOR SOMEONE’S RIGHT.

The occasion was dedicated to the revered parents of Mr. Rohit Brandon, Mr. Satyapal Brandon and Mrs. Auphelia Brandon. It was graced by the chief guest Mr. Pramod K. Tiwari, former IPS officer and an ex-Xavierite with Fr. N.V. Mani, SJ as the guest of honour. The jury consisted of Mrs. Anita Brandon and Mrs. Veena K. Arora. The event was phenomenally compered by Siddhant Dhingra and Smriti Jasoria.

The occasion commenced with a mellifluous prayer by the school choir. Then, the august gathering was addressed by the Principal, Fr. T.J. Jose, SJ whose words encouraged all to take a step for humanity. Speakers representing their various houses spoke remarkably well enrapturing the audience with their speeches. Each speaker put forward his views with fiery spirits and great panache. Finally the event came to an end with the wise words of the esteemed Chief Guest and jury members. This was followed by the announcement of the eagerly awaited results, with the Greens emerging on the top.
