Stamp collecting is the most popular hobby in the world and what makes it popular is that people of any age, income group and interest can find some aspect of stamp collecting appealing, interesting and very satisfying.
Stamps represent historical and important events, people and places and thus are an excellent source of learning along with fun. Therefore, to encourage the evanescent activity of stamp collection among the students and showcase the value and elegance of stamps, Philately Exhibition was held from 15th to 17th October, 2015 in the Junior School Hall. The organisers were Mr. Dilip Shrivastav and Mr. Yogesh Bhatnagar from the Xavier’s Society and Rajesh Bhatia from the Philatelic Society of Rajasthan.
It was a great success. Many students from various schools like MGD, Jayshree Periwal, etc. visited the exhibition and got an opportunity to learn and know about various types of stamp collections based on wildlife, famous personalities, places and important events. Also, regarding the stamp collections of the students, winners will be announced soon.
Such exhibitions are held at regular intervals to enhance the interest of students towards philately.
