Techno buzz-2016

In the present scenario, the use of technology has become quite commonplace. It has eased up our lives and has depreciated manual labour. Almost all of us are conscious of its benefits, uses and even few of its harms. But only such an amount of information is not sufficient. To be abreast with the advancing world, it is very essential to possess knowledge regarding freshly introduced technology and its several fields.

Hence with this aim, Techno buzz– the Inter-school Information Technology Quiz is orchestrated in St. Xavier’s Sr. Sec. School per year by eXrays team, the electronic eye of the school. This time, i.e., in 2016, commenced on 22nd July in the Senior school hall, the quiz was a great success and didn’t fail in promoting the keenness for technology among students.

In total, 16 leading schools of Jaipur came to participate in the quiz (two students from each school) and went through the elimination round of which four schools were selected for the final round. The chosen schools’ names are as stated- Jayshree Periwal High, Jayshree Periwal International, Ryan International and St. Anselm’s (Pink City). The most awaited moment came as the quiz started after lighting of the lamp by our venerated principal, Fr. T.J. Jose, and Mr. Shaji Thomas, the teacher co-ordinator of eXrays. The competition was compered by Ishita Mathur and the schools were quizzed by Shrey Tiwari and Vedant Jain while the participating schools formed the audience along with the students of the 11th standard.

Including St. Xavier’s, the above mentioned schools competed with each other nip and tuck to lift the stunning trophy.The stunning trophies It was made even more closely contested by the nail biting questions. There were 7 rounds in total and after the completion of every round, audience questions were asked by Madhurya Sharma and interestingly, almost all of the questions were answered correctly by the audience. Before the results were announced, Fr. T.J. Jose gave a short speech congratulating all the participants and a vote of thanks was given by Madhurya Sharma.

Now coming to the results, the coveted trophy finally came to the possession of Jayshree Periwal High school which emerged as the winner school while the runner-up trophy was awarded to Jayshree Periwal International school. Ryan International school and St. Anselm’s school achieved the 3rd and the 4th positions respectively. Well, talking of St. Xavier’s school which started at a very slow pace, was unable to speed up throughout the quiz and acquired the 5th position.

All in all, it was a competition worth enjoying. Felicitations to the winners as well as to all the eXrays team members!
